Mia’s jewelry is defined by polarities of hard and soft. Mia is transforming metal, inherently rigid and hard material, into fluid, graceful, sculptural jewelry and objects. Her hand-crafted pieces, while abstract in nature, draw from observing the shapes around her found in architecture, urban and natural detritus, and human interactions. She is curious about the relationship of what her mind perceives and what her hands can produce. Oblik Atelier is an intimate studio where each piece is produced by Mia, and the work is as much about personal connection as it is about function. “Oblik Atelier” means “form studio” in Croatian, reflecting the conversation around sinuous shapes that conform and complement the body.
